Getting started with CertainGoal

Getting started

CertainGoal turns a big ambition into a plan you can actually execute: a goal, the tasks that get you there, and the KPIs that prove you're making progress. This guide walks you through your first one.

1. Create your first goal

Sign in at app.certaingoal.com (with Google or email) and create a goal. Give it a clear title, an optional description, and a deadline. Every goal lives inside a project, so you can group related goals together.

2. Break it into tasks

Add the concrete steps that move the goal forward as tasks. Each task can have a priority, dates, and its own subtasks. Tasks are the engine of the whole system — completing them is what advances your goal.

3. Set up KPIs

KPIs are the numbers that measure whether the goal is really working — signups, revenue, workouts logged, whatever matters. Attach one or more KPIs to a goal so progress is measured by outcomes, not just activity.

4. Track your progress

A goal's status and progress are calculated automatically from its tasks, so your dashboard always reflects reality without manual updates.

Tip: You never set progress by hand. Move your tasks forward and the goal's progress follows. See how progress & status are calculated.
